We have three dogs from the
Loups du Soleil breeding program in our
schutzhund club, representing the "J", "L" and "O" litters.
The Loups du Soleil kennel has produced many excellent working
dogs. Jinx's litter brother, Jackson, is the current
Mondioring 3 U.S. Champion. Mongoose du Loups du Sliel
earned 6th place in the WORLD Mondioring Championships, the
highest ranking ever achieved by a U.S. team! Another
litter brother, Joker, won the 2008 AWDF Schutzhund Championship
AND the North American Schutzhund Championship. Three
Fauxtois sons are qualified for the 2009 FMBB IPO Championships
in Czechoslovakia. I think Mike Ellis may be on to
something...... |

   Jinx
is one of those brilliant dogs who could practically
read the book and do things herself. I was so
fortunate to purchase her from Mike Ellis and extremely
disappointed in 2008 when she was spayed as a result of
pyometra, as I am convinced her puppies would have made
awesome contributions. She is physically skilled
and so willing to do anything I ask. She is also
social with people and other animals, and her best
friend in the house is our Siamese cat, Kia.
I began with the intention of
competing in ring sports with her but discovered that
the travel and expense required for that sport was
beyond me. I also learned that I enjoy being part
of a camaraderie and teamwork of schutzhund and
appreciate the volunteer atmosphere in that sport.
We did earn a MR1 with one passing leg; two are required
to move to the next level. I had to work hard to
convince Jinx that putting her nose down and tracking
was worthwhile, after allowing her air scent in USAR
exercises for several years, but we accomplished our
SchH1 and are currently the 2008 SchH2 Champions in the
North Central Region. As a disaster dog, she is
accomplished to the same standard as the FEMA dogs and
is trained for live-find, with a bark alert.
We are presently in rehabilitation
following a serious surgery for a shoulder injury and
hope to return to work. |
